News on the passing of Queen Elizabeth II has been a significant event and one that has left many feeling a great sense of sadness.
Rowan Consulting has ceased content over the next 10 days as a mark of respect but we appreciate there may be some questions regarding managing the people aspects of the business, especially regarding the news of the pending bank holiday.
Bank holiday announcement
The UK is now in a period of National Mourning that lasts until the end of the day of the State Funeral on Monday, 19 September 2022. This day has been declared as a national bank holiday.
What does this mean to my business?
Employers should confirm with employees that Monday 19th September is a bank holiday and whether they are required to work. The Government has announced its intentions regarding the bank holiday and more information can be found here, we appreciate there are a few grey areas and no one business is the same, whilst we cannot interfere in existing contractual arrangements between employers and employees we are able to assist you in interpreting what this may mean to your current policies and practices.
